Ronald L. Zinkham

Ronald L. Zinkham, 89, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023, while under the care of Greensburg Care Center.

Born Jan. 13, 1934, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Iva Keefer Zinkham.

Ronald married his wife, Barbara at St. Paul Lutheran Church on June 30, 1956.

He was the mayor of Harmony for seven years. He taught math and science at Shenago High School. He later moved on to work for the Seneca Valley School District, where he taught math and science to high school students then became the junior high principal.

After his retirement, he taught at both the Butler County Community College and Beaver Community College. He was a member of the Zelienople Lions Club for 65 years. He was very involved in his church with various activities including the church choir, lector, greeter, assisting the minister, being a Sunday school teacher, and was on the church council. He also coached softball for a while.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, starting from when he was a teenager. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Brew Zinkham; his daughter, Lee Ann (Michael) Herron; and his granddaughter, Lindsay Herron.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

ZINKHAM — Friends of Ronald L. Zinkham, who died Thursday, April 27, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St., Zelienople.

Ronald will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Zelienople.

Donations may be made in Ronald’s memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church at the address above.
