COVID UPDATE 2/8: BMH hospitalizations drop 29% over the weekend
Butler Memorial Hospital saw a 29% decrease over the weekend in its number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
According to Monday's report by Butler Health System, the hospital had 22 inpatients with COVID-19, five of whom were being treated in the intensive care unit. The hospital had reported 31 inpatients Friday.
The hospital reported two deaths at Butler Memorial during that time frame.
In the past, hospital officials have said that reductions in COVID-19 inpatients unrelated to recent deaths have either been discharged or moved into recovery treatment.
Clarion Hospital has also seen another decrease. On Monday, Clarion reported having three inpatients, a decrease of three from Friday's report.
BHS officials on Monday said they will continue with vaccinations as they receive new doses from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
A report from the Department of Health was unavailable Monday.
Department officials notified people of this through its update regarding the COVID-19 Early Warning Dashboard.
“The daily COVID-19 data today will be delayed as a result of technical maintenance to the data server on Sunday,” said a department statement. “The website update and daily COVID-19 release from the Department of Health will be delayed past noon today as well.”
