County representatives named among state’s most influential leaders
“City & State Pennsylvania’s Power 100 List” named four county representatives among the states 100 most influential leaders.
Each year, City & State ranks Pennsylvania's most powerful and influential leaders. The list ranges from politics to business, education to health care and more. This years list was realized Monday, April 24.
No. 1 on the list was democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Pa, highlighting his eradication of college degree requirements for many state jobs and his dedication to state education initiatives, calling for $1 billion in funding and recruitment incentives.
U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa, was named No. 2. His entry spotlights recent bills he co-sponsored to expand Medicaid and Medicare coverage, support students with disabilities, and fund and upgrade fire and EMS facilities..
U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa, took 6th place. The list addressed his recovery from both the stroke he suffered during his candidacy and its side-effects, as well as a rail safety bill he co-sponsored with Casey.
In 40th place was U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th. Kelly currently chairs the Subcommittee on Tax, co-sponsoring a bipartisan bill to extend the New Markets Tax Credit. The list also underscored his recent participation in the congressional parent’s bill of rights.
