Bystanders help save driver’s life after Zelie crash
Matt Springer is accustomed to jumping into action at the scene of a vehicle accident.
What the lieutenant for Harmony Volunteer Fire District is not used to are civilians offering their assistance on scene, which happened at a crash in Zelienople on Friday night.
The bystanders were able to save the driver’s life, as he was found unconscious at the scene.
“It wasn’t just me. It took a lot of people to save that man’s life,” he said.
Springer heard a dispatch for the crash at New Castle and Linden streets around 10:30 p.m. as he was returning home from a friend’s house.
“I didn’t plan on responding, but I figured, I’m pretty close,” he said.
