Leonard Hockenberry
Leonard Reuben Hockenberry, 64, of Karns City, died unexpectedly at 6:30 p.m. Friday of natural causes in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Butler, the son of the late Reuben C. and the late Mary Keefer Hockenberry.
He was a mechanic and worked for Hurtz Trucking in East Butler, then for Spang for eight years. He then worked for John Clark Heavy Hauling in East Butler for 10 years.
He was a 1961 graduate of Moniteau High School and a member of the North Street Christian Church in Butler.
Mr. Hockenberry is survived by two sons, Leonard Hockenberry of Butler and Lee Hockenberry of Karns City; a stepson, Shannon Stiteler of Mechanicsburg; three stepdaughters, Darlene Stiteler of West Sunbury and Mrs. Tracy Hockenberry and Valerie Stiteler, both of Karns City; four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Allen of Butler; Mrs. Gary (Mary) Craig and Mrs. John (Ruth) Bell, both of Chicora, and Linda Berry of Butler; three grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
He was married to Alana Boden Hockenberry. He then married Doris Lee Hockenberry on June 15, 1995. She died Dec. 21, 2003.
<B>HOCKENBERRY</B> — Friends of Leonard Reuben Hockenberry, who died Friday, July 21, 2006, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Huber, pastor of North Christian Church, officiating.Burial will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
