Cora Pink
Cora Lavada Pink, a resident of Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, passed away on April 29, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital at the age of 96.
She was born April 27, 1927, in Portersville, to Charles Wilbur and Melda Bortz Wright.
She graduated from Butler High School and Butler Memorial Hospital school of nursing.
Cora was employed at the VA Medical Center in Butler, completed classes to become a nurse practitioner and had completed 30 years of service in the VA system.
Surviving are her husband, James Patrick Pink; three daughters, Karen Mahood of Chandler, Ariz., Deborah (Mahood) Avnet of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Jamie (Pink) Johnson of Fairmont, W.Va.; one son, Stephen Pink of Crescent, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Cora was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Mahood and John Siekaniec, both of Butler; both of her parents, Charles and Melda; and her sister, Pauline Berry.
PINK — There will be a private burial with no services for Cora Lavada Pink, who died Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Her body was donated to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for research through Human Gift Registry. As in true nurse fashion, she was “always giving!”
