Two candidates running for Donegal Township supervisor
Two Republican candidates are competing for one six-year term on the Donegal Township board of supervisors.
Jim Spohn will face off against incumbent Ryan Ritzert on the Republican ballot in the May 16 primary election. The winner will proceed to the November ballot. There are no Democratic candidates competing for the six-year term.
One Democratic candidate, Michael Haid is running uncontested for a 2-year term.
Spohn has lived in Donegal Township for over 16 years. He previously worked for Chicora borough for five years, and currently works for Butler County as a tax assessor. He said he works with the townships and boroughs with the collection of building permits on new construction.
He said he wanted to run for supervisor to get more involved with the township and how it operates.
His goals include working to save taxpayers money and keeping the residents more informed with what is going on in the township.
