Mary Agnes Day
Mary Agnes Day, 82, of Butler passed away peacefully Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 16, 1927, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Moore) Houk.
Mary was a member of Community Alliance Church.
She worked at Mary Evans Maternity Hospital in Ellwood City and retired from Butler Memorial Hospital in 1986.
She enjoyed golfing, reading, knitting and playing cards. She was famous for her good pie baking.
Surviving are her husband, Charles R. Day; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Barbara) Kriner of Butler, Mrs. Ken (Nancy) McKeever of Butler and Mrs. Kirk (Kathy) Farra of Harmony; two sons, Charles Day of Butler and Richard and Beth Day of Mars; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Houk of New Castle and James Houk of Ellwood City; and several nieces and nephews.
<B>DAY</B> — Friends of Mary Agnes Day, who died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with her pastor, Rev. Dennis Krajacic, officiating.
