SLIPPERY ROCK — Hitting with the bases loaded doesn’t make Brett Galcik nervous at all.

In fact, the Slippery Rock High School senior relishes such situations.

He came to the plate with the sacks jammed three times Friday in a home game against West Middlesex, belting a grand slam on the final opportunity in the Rockets’ 11-4 baseball victory.

Galcik popped to second base with the bases loaded to close out a four-run Slippery Rock second inning. He beat out a chopper to third for an infield hit with the sacks full in the fourth.

His towering home run to left with the bases loaded capped a five-run fifth inning and broke the game open.

“Brett is the heart of our lineup,” Slippery Rock coach Derrick Wood said. “There’s no one we’d rather have up with the bases loaded than him.”
