Robert Thomas “Bobby” Parker Jr., 47, of Butler, beloved father and friend, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1963, in Reykjavik, Iceland, he was the son of Robert Thomas Parker Sr. and Sarah Regina Bunyan Parker.

Robert was a Methodist.

He worked for Butler Armco, now AK Steel, in the melt shop.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Robert also enjoyed hunting, fishing and relaxing.

He graduated from Knoch High School in 1981.

Robert is survived by three sons, Robert Thomas “Robbie” Parker III and his wife, Gabrielle, of Butler, Andrew Dale “Pookie” Parker of Butler and Christopher Frederick Parker of Butler; one daughter, Katherine Rosa-Elizabeth “Katie” Parker of Butler, expecting a granddaughter; his parents, Robert Thomas Parker Sr. and Sarah Regina Bunyan Parker of Renfrew; one brother, Gregory Parker of Slippery Rock; one sister, Sheri Smith and her husband, Timothy, of Renfrew; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>PARKER</B> — Friends of Robert Thomas “Bobby” Parker Jr., who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. A private interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.Officers and members of the Joseph T. Black VFW Post 249, the American Legion Post 778 and the American Legion Post 117 of Butler will conduct military services at funeral home following the funeral service.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
