Joseph P. Walsh
Joseph P. Walsh, 71, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Karns City, died at 1:17 p.m. Friday at West Penn Hospital as a result of burns he sustained while burning brush at his home.
Born March 24, 1935, in Clay Township, he was the son of Myrie Vesceri and Mary J. Frisk Walsh.
He attended St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. He was a union laborer before becoming the owner and operator of Walsh's Bar and Tavern in Karns City. He was a member of the Country Music Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Cathleen Jo) Bruner of Chicora; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph P. and Joy Walsh, Jr. of Butler; three grandchildren, Kevin and Amanda Walsh and Nikki Jo Bruner; a sister, Marie Scott of East Butler; and two brothers, Myrie Walsh of Arkansas and George Walsh of Butler.
<B>WALSH </B>— Friends of Joseph P. Walsh, who died Friday, July 14, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home, </B>132 Main St., West Sunbury.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Thompson of the St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the West Penn Burn Unit.
