Venango state police seek assistance identifying theft suspect
State police in Venango County are requesting the public’s assistance in a theft of two assault style rifles from a Rural King last weekend.
Police said that at 1:42 a.m. Saturday, May 13, a man forcibly entered the Rural King in Sugarcreek Borough and smashed a firearms display case.
Surveillance footage revealed the suspect to be a Black man estimated to be in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a black mask, pants and hoodie as well as white tennis shoes.
The man removed two AK-47 style rifles from a display and fled the store on foot, police said.
