Rodney Winters

Rodney Paul Winters, 68, of Butler passed away at 2:15 a.m. Thursday at his home.

He was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Butler, to the late John E. Winters and Genevieve (Sheppeck) Winters.

Mr. Winters worked in the maintenance department of Pullman Standard until it closed and then he became a truck driver for Russell Standard Paving. He also had worked at the Butler Country Club. He retired in 2006.

He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to his camp.

Mr. Winters is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Newton, who he married on Dec. 18, 1970; three sons, Stephen John Winters of Myrtle Beach, S.C., James Rodney Winters of Saxonburg and Nicholas Newton Winters of London, Ky.; three grandchildren, Jordan Winters, Haylee Winters and Damian Winters; two brothers, Richard J. Winters of Butler and J. Ronald Winters of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Charles Winters; and one brother, Ralph Winters.
