BROOKVILLE — Moniteau had a field day at Brookville High School.

Three Warrior girls claimed District 9 Class 2A championships in field events on Friday.

Rylee Long won the triple jump, Autumn Stewart the shot put and Emma Covert the discus.

The efforts helped the Warriors place second to Elk County Catholic in the team standings.

Long was a returning champion. She won here two years ago in the same event before placing fourth last year.

“I was seeded first today, so my goal was definitely to win,” said Long, who went 35 feet, one-fourth inch. She went 36-11.5 at the Oil City Invitational earlier this season and hopes to close the season with a strong performance at next week’s state championship meet.
