Homicide investigation underway after 2 found dead at Muddy Creek Park and Ride
A homicide investigation is underway after two people were found dead of gunshot wounds at the Park and Ride on Perry Highway in Muddy Creek Township on Monday, May 29, state police said.
The two people found dead were determined to be a 28-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, both from Pulaski Township, Lawrence County.
According to police, first responders were dispatched for two gunshot-wound victims at the park and ride at 5:26 p.m. When police arrived at 5:30 p.m., both were dead.
According to state police, original reports said the woman was lying on the ground beside the vehicle and bleeding. When they arrived she was found unresponsive.
The man was found in the passenger seat of the vehicle, police said.
Though life-saving measures were performed, both died as a result of their injuries.
State police units from both Butler and Lawrence County responded to the scene, with state police blocking off both Route 19 ramps to Route 422.
Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company ambulance and Portersville Borough-Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
