Two-vehicle crash in front of Clearview Mall sends one to hospital
CENTER TWP — A two-vehicle accident on North Main Street Extension sent one person to the hospital Sunday night.
Police said Abigail Warheit, whose age and address were not immediately available, was transported by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
However, Lt. firefighter Zack Clark of Unionville Volunteer Fire Department, said she suffered minor injuries. The collision happened at about 5:38 p.m.
Police said Warheit was driving a blue Subaru Outback. A woman police identified as Ashley Rosario was in the passenger seat and also suffered minor injuries, according to state troopers on scene.
Police said Alexandria Burkett was driving a Pontiac G6. Inside the car, police said, were two passengers a trooper identified as Emily Chrzanowski and Derek Pope. None of the passengers were minors and neither sustained injury, police said.
Police said Pope fled the scene after the accident and went to the Clearview Mall. It was unclear why he left the scene, and where exactly he went within the mall property.
He was later brought back to the scene around 6:09 p.m., police said.
According to Tpr. Philip Treadway, both drivers claimed their respective light was green. Treadway said police would review video surveillance footage before any charges are filed.
