The streets of Downtown Butler got a little brighter on Friday, June 1.

Impacting Together’s program “HeART for Sobriety,” which was created for people in recovery to engage in artistic outlets, unveiled a T.I.L.E.S. flower pot in front of SUCCEED on North Main Street in Downtown Butler.

The acronym T.I.L.E.S stands for taking interest in listening to everyone’s story.

The flower pot is covered with 4-inch-by-4-inch tiles that were decorated by dozens of people in recovery. The tiles include inspirational messages and paintings that symbolized their stories.

“These are people’s stories,” said director of the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership, Alice Del Vecchio. “People have to take time to listen to folks that are struggling. We are all going through something, and it’s important that spend time listening to one another.”

The project is part of an effort to raise funds for “HeART for Sobriety” and its future art opportunities for people in recovery.

T.I.L.E.S flower pots can be ordered by contacting the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership. Information can be found online at www.institutefornonprofitleadership.org.
