Mars Area High School
The Mars Area High School commencement ceremony was at 6 p.m. June 2 on the Mars Area High School campus.
The student speakers were John Sutton, Gracyn Thatcher and Gwenyth Howell, class president.
John Sutton is the son of Michael and Karen Sutton of Mars. He was a member of student council, the Science National Honor Society, Key Club, and the National Honor Society.
He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in Engineering.
Gracyn Thatcher is the daughter of Stephen and Valerie Thatcher of Mars. She was a member of the Spanish Club and participated in the school newspaper/Planet Press, Key Club, bible club, student council, and broadcast media/Orbit News.
She plans to attend the University of Tennessee — Knoxville.
Gwenyth Howell is the daughter of Simuel and Jennifer Howell of Mars. She was class president, and involved in German club, the German Honor Society, girls soccer, the National Honor Society, student council, the Science National Honor Society, and Water Protection Club.
She plans to attend the University of Richmond.
Class officers are Gwenyth Howell, president; Taylor Tumulty, vice president; Sydney Terzich, secretary; and Eva Ranalli, treasurer.
