Frances J. Conn
Frances J. Conn, 89, of Evergreen Nursing Center, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Thursday at the nursing center.
She was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Claytonia. She was the daughter of the late Frank Zedreck and Maxine Mellish Zedreck.
She was a member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church.
In her early years, she had been employed at Spaide Shirt Factory and Bobbie Brooks. She also was a nurse's aide at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and provided in-home care for the elderly for a number of years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Southworth of Allison Park and Suzanne Conn of Butler; a son, Dennis S. Conn of West Sunbury; four grandchildren, Christopher and Meghan Southworth and Anthony and Alex Conn; two sisters, Genevieve Swidzinski of Butler and Helen Shedlock of Tuscon, Ariz.; a brother, Frank Zedreck of Snowshoe, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley E. Conn, who passed away Dec. 1, 1972; and two brothers.
<B>CONN</B> — Friends of Frances J. Conn, who died Thursday, July 23, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church with Father James Bedillion, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
