Robert N. Matoka, 82, of McCandless Township, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Louise (Miebach) Matoka; father of Robert N. (Gena) Matoka Jr., William J. (Helen) Matoka, Christopher P. and Stephen M. Matoka, and Suzanne (late Mike) Donnelly; grandfather of Faith and Mandi Kaufmann, Conrad, Robert III (Leah), Thomas, James and William Matoka Jr., Amiee (Matthew) Starinchak, Ashley (Steve) Bandi, and Melinda Matoka; great-grandfather of Kyle Matoka, Ricky and Ben Starinchak, Elizabeth Mary Bandi and Lyndsey Bandi; son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Septak) Matoka.

After high school, Bob served in the Navy aboard the USS Sierra AD-18 and traveled the world. Once married and after completing active duty, he joined the Navy NM CB 23 Seabee Reserves Construction Unit. He belonged to Island X-3 Detachment. He then worked for Warner Continental Trucking and then Halls Continental Trucking Co. He also worked for the town of McCandless road crew. Bob then followed in his father’s footsteps and started his own plumbing company with his sons, Matoka and Sons Plumbing.

MATOKA — Friends of Robert N. Matoka, who died on Monday, June 12, 2023, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at THOMAS P. KUNSAK FUNERAL HOME, 3552 California Ave., Pittsburgh, where Parastas will be 4 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Gibsonia. Entombment will follow in Christ Our Savior Cemetery, Gibsonia.
