Charles J. Clowes
Charles J. Clowes, 74, of Cabot died Thursday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.
Born Nov. 10, 1931, in Cabot, he was the son of John and Harriet Barnes Clowes
He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired in 1993 as the CEO for the Lakeland Mutual Insurance Co. in Erie.
Mr. Clowes was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, where he served as an elder. He also belonged to the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Armstrong County League of Arts.
He was a member and past president of the South Butler County School Board. He also was a past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Doerr Clowes, whom he married Feb. 7, 1953; three daughters, Mrs. Doug (Linda) McCall of Cabot, Mrs. Donald (Diane) Lynn of Butler and Mrs. Tom (Colleen) Mack of Renfrew; a brother, Reuben Clowes of Georgetown, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. David (Janet) Durst of Cabot and Mrs. Dolores Koegler of Saxonburg.
Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Clowes, who died Thursday, June 15, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home,</B> 410 W. Main St. Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Hannahstown with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.
