John D. Harigan Sr.
John Daniel Harigan Sr., formerly of Cranberry Township, died Oct. 5 of injuries received at his ranch in Florala, Ala., while attempting to corral a bison inside a livestock trailer.
Born in Bellevue, he was the son of the late Daniel Francis Harigan and Mary Catherine Coffroth.
He loved the world of business and had been connected with several large corporations in executive positions, including Morton International, PPG Industries and Bee Chemical Corp.
He and his wife traveled extensively around the world. Following retirement, he started BeaverKreek Bison in 1997, where along with his wife and his son, Mark, he maintained a herd of bison.
John and his wife were members of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Marian Louise Koegler Harigan; two sons, John D. Harigan Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Dallas, Texas, and Mark F. Harigan of Florala; a daughter, Elizabeth Martin and her husband, Randy S., of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a brother, Daniel Francis Harigan III of Saxonburg; and a sister Nancy Catherine Purvis of Cranberry Township. He also is survived by five grandchildren, Jeffrey and Christine Harigan and Alexander and John Scott Martin and Katherine Martin.
