John F. Thiel, 59, of Butler passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 20, 1954, in Pittsburgh to the late Russell Reese Thiel and Emily Brooke Thiel.

John was a 1972 graduate of Butler High School. He was an avid Steelers fan.

John was a warehouseman at Wettereau, Inc.

John is survived by his three daughters, Denise Thiel and her companion, Randy Scott, of Butler, Carol Bianucci and her husband, Todd, of Butler and Lena Bruno and her husband, Anthony, of Erie, Pa.; his five grandchildren, Alex Thiel, Shauna and Brianna Bianucci and Kaitlyn and Kylie Bruno; his seven brothers and sisters; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Burkhart.
