Lloyd 'Dutch' Braham

Lloyd G. "Dutch" Braham, 81, of Sandy Lake Road, Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County, died at 9 a.m. Friday at his home.

Born Feb. 20, 1929, in Wolf Creek Township, he was the son of Robert P. Braham and Edith Mowry Braham.

He married Anna Louise Paxton on March 6, 1953.

He was co-owner and operator with his son, Donald, of Braham Auctioneers, Grove City.

Lloyd went to auctioneer's school in 1949, and at 20 years old, he started with his first sale following graduation. He was in business and had been an active auctioneer in the area for 61 years. He also operated Braham Mobile Milling Service from 1959 to 1990, which was a mobile feed grinding service where he went to farms and prepared feed for farmers for their live stock.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

A graduate of Sandy Lake High School, Class of 1946, Lloyd enjoyed his grandchildren and family, and he also liked gardening, doing yard work, hunting and helping his sons chop wood. Over the years, he donated his services to many organizations such as 4-H, fireman department auctions, Boy Scouts, mission auctions for churches, local fairs and charities.

He is survived by his wife Anna Louise at home; a daughter, Susan K. Decker and her husband Robert of Grove City; three sons, Douglas L. Braham and his wife Nancy of Milton, David J. Braham of Grove City, and Donald W. Braham and his wife Tammy of Grove City; nine grandchildren, Carley and Chase Braham, Amber Boughner, Robert, Jerad, Aubrey and Dylan Braham, Lauren and Renee Decker; and a great-grandson, Jackson Boughner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary L. Enslen; and a brother, Walter E. Braham.

<B>BRAHAM</B> — Friends of Lloyd G. "Dutch" Braham, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, 2426 Scrubgrass Road, Grove City, with the Rev. John "Jack" Patterson, a retired methodist pastor. Burial will be in Union Home Cemetery, Wolf Creek Township.Memorial contributions may be made in Lloyd's memory to either Mercer County 4-H Program, P.O. Box 530, Mercer, PA 16137 or to the American Heart Association.
