2 taken to hospital after bus, sedan crash at Whitestown and Evans City Road intersection
CONNOQUENESSING TWP — Two people were taken to hospitals by ambulance Monday, June 26, after a crash involving a Butler Transit Authority bus at the intersection of Whitestown and Evans City roads.
State police said the bus continued through a red light at the intersection and collided with a Mercedes-Benz sedan. The crash occurred around 8:40 a.m.
Two people in the sedan were taken to hospitals for injuries by Butler Ambulance Service ambulances.
The bus contained no passengers at the time of the crash and the driver was not injured, police said. The bus had minor damage to its front end.
The sedan received severe front-end damage, including the hood being detached from the vehicle.
Butler Township Volunteer Fire District controlled traffic while crews cleared the scene.
John Paul, executive director of the Butler Transit Authority, said all of the regular bus routes will continue this week, and will not be disrupted by the bus crash.
He also said the bus involved in the crash will be repaired, if possible.
