Insurance claims prompt creation of city safety committee
Butler’s insurance company has mandated that the city create an internal safety committee, and City Council approved its creation Thursday, June 29.
The committee is made up of employees from the public works department, the city code enforcement officer, as well as Butler Bureau of Police chief Robert O’Neill and Butler Bureau of Fire chief Chris Switala. Meetings will be attended by officials, including Mayor Bob Dandoy.
“Our workers’ comp — we’re actually required because our claims are kind of high right now,” said city clerk Mindy Gall. “We’ll probably have annual meetings and worksheets just to check in.”
