Plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day in Butler County
There will plenty of opportunities this year to celebrate America’s 247th birthday in Butler County.
√ UPDATE: Mars borough has delayed fireworks to Saturday, July 8 due to weather. The show will begin at dusk with fireworks around 9 p.m. Mars borough’s Fourth of July fireworks will be set off on July 3 this year. Starting at dusk, the borough’s sky will be filled with colorful explosions commiserating the birth of this nation. Mars borough and Adams Area Fire District will be watching drought conditions in the area. If a Red Flag Warning is issued, the fireworks will be canceled or rescheduled.
√ The Big Butler Fair continues over the Fourth of July weekend and through the end of next week. The largest agricultural fair in Western Pennsylvania draws more than 100,000 people.
√ The ShuBrew Brewery, 205 S. Main St., Zelienople, will be offering a brunch menu before the Fourth of July Parade in Zelienople. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Proceeds will be donated to the Zelienople Historical Society to help offset costs to bring in the Fallen Hero Memorial. The memorial is on display through Wednesday at the Four Corners Park.
√ After the parade, the Zelienople Community Park will be hosting its annual Independence Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Live music, swimming and food trucks are planned. Fireworks that will begin at dusk.
√ The July Fourth Celebration will be held in downtown Mars. Local food and drink vendors, as well as entertainment, will be available for residents. The parade will begin at 3 p.m.
