Martha Murrin Walker

Martha "Tootsie" Murrin Walker, 82, of Penn Hills died Sunday at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville surrounded by family.

Born Nov. 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Herbst Murrin.

She attended Butler High School and had worked at the Penn Hills Kroger store for more than 20 years.

She was the beloved wife of the late William B. Walker.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Anna Campbell of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are three nephews, Anthony "Tony" Sequite (Tillie), William Uram Jr. (Janet) and Carl Acquaviva, all of Butler; six nieces, Margie Hanratty (Frank) of Butler, Martha Campbell of Mars, Cindy Smith of West Sunbury, Jane Prokay (Mike) of Grove City, Cathy Cygan (George) of Butler and Carolyn Cherbonneau (Jim) of Slippery Rock. Numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lena Sequite, Margaret Uram and Helen "Dewey" Acquaviva; and a brother, Clarence Dickey.

WALKER - Friends of Martha "Tootsie" Murrin Walker, who died Sunday, March 6, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME, 11735 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. A blessing service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Nanz, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
