Mars Area Public Library survives water main break
The Mars Area Public Library, located on Grand Avenue, is back in action after a nearby water main break forced it to close for most of Monday, July 17.
After the break was repaired, the library reopened at 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
While the library building suffered no structural damage and none of the materials were affected, the break meant that the library was without running water — and thus, without working restrooms.
“We didn't have water, and everybody needs access to a restroom,” said library director Caitlyn Boland. “We were down as little as we possibly could be.”
Mars residents who are experiencing cloudy and/or discolored water are advised to run their faucets until the discoloration clears up.
