Charles G. Gardner

Charles G. Gardner, 74, of Cleveland Street died Tuesday at his home.

Born Nov. 13, 1932, in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of Gilbert Gardner and Doris Chapman.

He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, golf, painting and gardening.

Mr. Gardner served as a fireman apprentice in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Harmony. He also belonged to the Boy Scouts of America.

Surviving are his wife, Charlotte E. Gardner, whom he married on Aug. 11, 2001; three sons, Charles and Ronald Gardner, both of North Adams, Mass., and Geoffrey Gardner of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; seven daughters, Tanya Gardner and Sonja Burdick, both of Williamstown, Mass., Charlene Gardner of North Adams, Angelica Gardner of Ticonderoga, June Adam of Adams, Mass., Susan Todd of North Adams and Diane Gardner of Pittsfield, Mass.; three stepsons, Thomas Bruse of Butler, Edward Bruse of Sorrento, Fla., and Stephen Bruse of Mishicot, Wis.; three stepdaughters, Lori Sexton of Butler, Connie Edwards of Gloversville, N.Y., and Deborah Landers of Sorrento, Fla.; 49 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three nieces, and two nephews.

Two brothers, Milton Gardner of Bennington, Vt., and Jerry Gardner of Pittsfield, also survive.

<B>GARDNER</B> — Friends of Charles G. Gardner, who died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, will be received from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. R.K. Weber, retired Lutheran pastor, officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, to the Hospice Program of VNA, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home.</B> Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
