Robert J. Young

Robert J. Young, 83, of Buffalo Township passed away Sunday while in the company of family members at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.

Robert was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late Willavene (Frain) and Joseph Harvey Young.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Robert was a member of the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church in Buffalo Township.

He worked as a millwright at the Freeport Brick Co. for over 40 years.

Robert was a jack-of-all-trades, but especially enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and spending time with family and his dog Molly.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Thomson) Young; his son, Robert (Elaine) Young of Buffalo Township; three grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Young of Butler, and Jason (Melinda) Young and Jonathan Young, both of Buffalo Township; three great-grandchildren, Jason and Sarah Young and James Andrews; and his half-brother, Donald (Marie) Spohn of South Buffalo Township.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marlin, Ernie and Ralph Young; and his sister, Geneva Beck.

YOUNG — At the request of Robert J. Young, who died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, there will be no public visitation. A private family burial will be at the Sarverville Cemetery with the Rev. Kurt Knobel officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
