Isabelle H. Parker

Isabelle H. Parker, 96, formerly of State Street in Grove City, died of natural causes at 11:15 p.m. Sunday at the Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington. She was a resident of the care center since May 2000.

Born in Grove City, April 2, 1909, she was the daughter of Edward D. and Myrtle Wible Hovis.

She was a graduate of Wesley High School, which had a three-year program. She also was a graduate of Grove City High School and the New Castle Business College. She had been the executive housekeeper for the former Grove City Hospital from 1962 to 1970.

Mrs. Parker was a longtime and active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City. She was a past president of the Grove City Woman's Club, the former Grove City Council of Republican Woman and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Executive Housekeepers Association.

She is survived by a sister, Jean T. Davis of Meadville; two brothers, Blaine L. Hovis Sr. of Grove City and Richard Hovis of Pearl, Venango County; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her husband, David LeRoy Parker, whom she married April 25, 1932, died Oct. 23, 1984. Three brothers also preceded her in death.

PARKER — Friends of Isabelle H. Parker, who died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City. Arrangements are being handled by the CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, Grove City.Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127; or to Shenango Presbyterian Care, 238 S. Market St., New Wilmington, PA 16142.
