The Buffalo Creek Coalition and Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania are hosting a free workshop on municipal stormwater management from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 30 at Buffalo Creek Nature Park, 154 Monroe Road, Buffalo Township. Topics include designing and constructing stormwater management projects on municipal properties, selecting native plants for stormwater projects and tailoring ordinances to meet community needs. Speakers include Sarah Koenig, Audubon Society conservation director; Roxanne Swan, society native plant coordinator; and Jim Pillsbury, Westmoreland County Conservation District hydraulic engineer.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds are providing funding for the workshop.
