Edward Ivor Bowser

Edward Ivor Bowser, 84, of Reynoldsville died Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Sept. 14, 1924, in East Franklin Township, he was the son of Clark and Emma Powell Bowser.

He was a World War II veteran. He earned two bronze stars, a combat infantry badge, and a victory medal.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Reynoldsville.

He is survived by two daughters, Beth (Ronald) Ruffaner of Worthington and Carol (David) Altmire of Butler; three brothers, Herbert C. Bowser of Worthington, Donald L. Bowser of Kittanning and Jerry Bowser of Texas; a sister, Martha A. Patton of Kittanning; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 33 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca O. White Bowser, who he married May 16, 1946; four brothers; and four sisters.

BOWSER -- Friends of Edward Ivor Bowser, who died Sunday, March 15, 2009, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington.Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
