Paul Warren Shaul Sr.

Paul Warren Shaul Sr., 83, of Black Thorn Drive in Kittanning died Saturday at his home.

Born July 27, 1922, in Manorville, Armstrong County, he was the son of Andrew F. Sr. and Annabel Covert Shaul.

He was an educator for the Armstrong County and Butler school districts and for Butler County Community College.

Mr. Shaul was a member of the Manorville Methodist Church, where he was a former lay leader and the oldest lifetime member. He also belonged to the Seneca Masonic Lodge 805.

He served in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby L. Timmerberg Lowry Shaul, whom he married April 2, 1947; four sons, Paul Warren Shaul Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Ford City, Timothy Robert Shaul of Slate Lick, Joel Wilbur Shaul and his wife, Susan, of Monroe, N.C., and James Douglas Shaul and his wife, Krista, of Woodbine, Md.; three daughters, Dianne Jevicky and her husband, Ronald, of Greenville, N.C., Joyce Shaul-Leavell and her husband, Thomas, of Davenport, Iowa, and Holly Shaul-Snyder of Kittanning; and a brother, Andrew Frances Shaul Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Townsend, Ga. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Andrew Shaul, who died July 12, 1980; three brothers, Wilbur, Eugene and Marshall Shaul; and two sisters, Dorothy Husa and Lois Richards.

SHAUL - Friends of Paul Warren Shaul Sr., who died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at BAUER FUNERAL HOME, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ellen Bullock officiating.
