Alfreda E. Kosar
Alfreda E. Kosar, 94, of Butler passed away Monday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Butler on June 23, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Catherine Iannucci Marini.
A homemaker, she was formerly employed at Spaide Shirt Factory for eight years and at City Market for 18 years.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the 55 and Alive at St. Michael’s, the Tanglewood Senior Citizens, AARP, and Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also the former treasurer of the Ladies Guild of St. Michael’s.
She is survived by one son, John J. Kosar Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Michigan; one daughter, Linda Lisy of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, Rob Lisy, Randall Lisy, Beth Ann Giardina, Ryan Lisy, and Nicole Kosar; and four great-granddaughters, Cara Lisy, Meghan Lisy, Ella Giardina, and Lia Giardina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Kosar Sr., who passed away Nov. 24, 2007, one brother and one sister.
KOSAR — Friends of Alfreda E. Kosar, who passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
The Bereavement Group of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Friday for a Scriptural Wake Service.
