Pittman

Elisabet (Espa) Pittman, 78, of Hampton Township, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023. Born in the Faroe Islands on Nov. 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Grimur Eysturoy and Ingibjorg Mork. She resided in Iceland and attended finishing school before meeting her late husband William F. Pittman and moving to America.

She was the loving mother of Kristin (Christopher) Carney and four infant sons who predeceased her; dear grandmother of Cullen Carney; and sister of Regin Grimsson, Grimur Grimsson, Ingibjorg Grimsdottir and the late Vilhjalm Grimsson, Solla Grimsdottir and Ruth Grimsdottir.

Those who met Espa knew that she was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was always excited to see friends and eager to make new ones wherever she went. She had a wonderful sense of humor that was sparkling and feisty. Espa was a wonderfully generous person, and her boundless hospitality meant that her door was always open as she hosted friends and family from Iceland and other countries. She loved working at UPMC Passavant Hospital as an LPN for many years and, most of all, being with her beloved family.

PITTMAN — Family and friends of Elisabet (Espa) Pittman, who died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, where a memorial service will be held following visitation at 6 p.m. with the Rev. H. William Dambach officiating.
