Robert Leroy George,

64, of Butler passed away Thursday at his home following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.He was born Aug. 18, 1946, in Worthington, son of the late Leroy and Margaret Shields George.Bob was a laborer at the Castle Rubber Co. for 37 years.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves with the 319th Army Engineer Company for 19 years, retiring in 1995.He was a member of American Legion Post 778, V.F.W. Post 249, a life member of the D.A.V., the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, the Happy Hunters Club, the Summit Township Sportsman's Club, the Slovak Sokal Society, Ducks Unlimited and the National Turkey Federation.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cecilia A. Furka George. They were married on Sept. 21, 1968.Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Amy Sue) Sybert of Cabot, Mrs. Robbie (Kim) Kepple of Butler, Mrs. Paul (Tammy) Renick of West Sunbury, and Mrs. Elmer (Jessica) Mitchell of Karns City; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Donna May) Tanner of Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs. Jack (Kay) Kastler of Ohio; one brother, Mr. Dennis (Eileen) Crawford of Cabot; five grandchildren, Daniel Sybert and Shane Sybert of Butler, Zack Kepple and Ashley Kepple of Butler and Caleb Mitchell of Karns City; and the family dog, Chelsea.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Crawford.

<B>GEORGE</B> — Friends of Robert Leroy George, who died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, will be received in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler, Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev.
