Rummage sale, barbecue lunch in Jefferson Twp. to help scouts raise funds
Boy Scout Troop 683 of Jefferson Township will hold a two-day rummage sale and barbeque this weekend.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Aug. 27 at American Legion Post 683, 754 N. Pike Rd., Cabot.
The rummage sale will offer gently used items including housewares, kitchen, clothes, shoes, books, garden tools and holiday items.
Drew-B-Que Barbecue will be on hand on both days to serve pulled pork sandwiches, loaded nachos, loaded baked potatoes, hot dogs and baked beans.
All proceeds will benefit the scout troop, which is in need of a trailer to transport their equipment.
The all-girl Troop 683 has produced three Eagle Scouts since its inception in 2019.
An informational session for girls and their parents who may be interested in joining the troop will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at American Legion Post 683.
