Fennell sparks Trojans
Jack Fennell’s superb night helped lead North Catholic to a 49-42 victory over Serra Catholic at J.C. Stone Field on Friday.
His 14 carries yielded 171 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He added an interception return for another score.
North quarterback Jason Siket passed for two scores, one apiece to Gavin Kamody and Brady O’Hara.
Danny Franco added a touchdown run in the victory.
Indiana 28, Freeport 14 — The Yellowjackets fell behind 20-0 in this road loss.
Brady Sullivan scored both touchdowns for Freeport, snagging a 20-yard pass from Drew Ross before returning an interception 17 yards for another score.
Indiana’s Levi Porter tallied 187 yards from scrimmage and scored three times.
Cameron County 20, Union/A-C Valley 19 — A 2-point conversion attempt failed with less than six minutes remaining and the Falcon Knights were not able to score again in this defeat on the road.
They had pulled to within one point when quarterback Brody Dittman hit Trey Fleming for a 16-yard scoring toss.
Dittman and Logan Skibinski both scored on touchdown runs in the first half as the Falcon Knights built a 13-6 lead.
Luke Wilson paced Union/A-C Valley’s defense with 18 tackles.
Shady Side Academy 55, Summit Academy 0 — The Knights began the season with this loss on the road.

Armstrong 179, Mars 212 — Addison Pangoris led the Planets with a 51. Makenna Myler carded a 53, Addie Nailler and Emily Barent 54 each.
