Jordan Hammer

Hammer

Jordan Douglas Hammer, 32, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023.

Jordan was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard and Lois Hammer, and Ronald and Mary Catherine Myers, and many other loved ones in the family who welcomed him home.

He is survived by his parents, Doug and Ginny; brother, Mitchell Hammer (Megan Peaco) and niece, Mia Rose Hammer; many caring and loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and devoted lifetime friends and irreplaceable caregivers, Ada, Luke, Joe, Elaine, Jeremy, Sydney, Tori, Paige and Darishia.

Although Jordan's life was challenged by a severe neuromuscular disease, Friedreich's ataxia (FA), he embraced his challenges with a positive attitude, a great sense of humor, and persistent determination to keep the faith and live life to his best. He genuinely loved his family and friends and enjoyed seeing them do well. Despite his inabilities, he had a passion to give back and did so with his generosity, positive outlook and a smile that could light up a room.

Jordan was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Butler, where he always looked forward to worshipping and being greeted by Pastor Joel and his very loving church family. Jordan enjoyed board games, audio books, podcasts, trivia, Harry Potter, fantasy football and game shows. Most of all, Jordan was a beloved Pittsburgh sports fan!

His favorite saying was, “God’s got this.”

They will be forever grateful for all the love, kindness and help from their family, friends and neighbors.

Jordan can now rest from his struggles, rise and live in peace and joy with his heavenly father.
