Fundraiser set up for man killed in Thursday motorcycle crash
Friends of a man killed on Route 422 West Thursday, Aug. 31, have set up an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and help support his survivors.
Police said Frank Weber, 34, of Chicora, was killed Thursday when he was hit by downed wires while riding his motorcycle. His passenger, 31-year-old Kristi Cross, was seriously injured.
A GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $20,000 was started on Friday, Sept. 1. Organizer Krista Dubay said she hoped to help cover funeral expenses, among other costs.
Weber had a son, a daughter and a stepdaughter and was the legal guardian for a great niece, as well as the sole caregiver for his elderly father, Dubay said.
“Frank took care of people, it's who he was,” she wrote in an email. “His family, his friends, his employees. He was a very motivated and driven man who worked hard and loved harder.”

In addition to the GoFundMe for Weber, friends set one up for Cross, who is in stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. That campaign is available online at http://gofund.me/e3454631.
