Mary B. Kalina
Mary B. Kalina, 88, of 209 Highfield Road died peacefully at her home Sunday evening surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lyndora, Aug. 26, 1917, she was a daughter of Naum and Mary Bilowich.
A homemaker, she liked to bake for her family and was an excellent bread maker. For relaxation, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and playing Yatzee and cards.
Mrs. Kalina had been a very active member of the former St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora, where she was a member of the ladies club and had cleaned the parish church buildings for years. She was a current member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Meridian.
She is survived by her loving children, Steven G. Kalina and JoAnn Russin, both of Butler; and was the loving mother-in-law of Linda Kalina and Paul Russin. She was the loving, proud grandmother of John Salem and Steven R. and Matthew J. Kalina, all of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was the widow of Steve J. Kalina, who died Oct. 8, 1982. A brother, Michael Bilowich, also preceded her in death.
Mary will always be loved, fondly remembered and greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Kalina, who died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005. Friends and family are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. Her former church pastor, the Rev. John Ayoob, current pastor of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Moon Township, will officiate.
