Sara J. Bollinger

Sara J. Bollinger, 72, of Washington, Pa., formerly of Buffalo Township, died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday at Washington Hospital, where she was a patient since Feb. 15.

Born in Oklahoma, Westmoreland County, May 12, 1933, she was the daughter of Lyle K. and Verna I. Gallagher Gumbert.

She was a 1951 alumna of Washington Township High School in Apollo and a graduate of Duff's Business Institute, Pittsburgh. She retired from the bookkeeping department of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Mrs. Bollinger enjoyed bingo, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, Roland (Diane) Bollinger and Mark (Denice) Bollinger, both of Buffalo Township, and Kenneth (Judy) Bollinger, with whom she made her home for the past 15 years; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Beth) Hawk of Buffalo Township; and four grandchildren, Autumn and Tyler Hawk and Randy and Justin Bollinger. She also is survived by a brother, James (Ruth) Gumbert of Yardley, Bucks County; a sister, Mary Jane Long of Allison Park; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

BOLLINGER - There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Sara J. Bollinger, who died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road, Sarver, with the Rev. Paul Barrett officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, PA 15301.Arrangements are being handed by KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME, Natrona Heights.
