“Beat the Peak” encouraged by power company Wednesday
Central Electric is encouraging customers to conserve energy through their “Beat the Peak” initiative on Wednesday, Sept. 6, by raising thermostats a few degrees, and putting energy-heavy chores on hold.
“Beat the Peak” is slated for 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and can seeks to reduce electricity use. Contributing can include turning off non-essential electric items and hiking your thermostat a few degrees.
Central Electric also suggested customers use pool pumps, dehumidifiers or electric appliances after peak hours to conserve energy.
According to the company, reducing electricity use during those hours everyone can help stabilize future power costs for customers.
