Officials identify man who died at Middlesex Township plant
Officials have identified the man who died at a plant in Middlesex Township on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Joseph Reyes, 46, of Butler, died of traumatic asphyxiation, according to the Butler County Coroner’s office on Wednesday.
Deputy Coroner John Hanovick said the death was ruled an accident.
Emergency responders were called to Vorteq Coil Finishers, 125 McFann Road, at 3:30 p.m. for reports of a man trapped in a coil. According to an emergency dispatch report, police at the scene requested the coroner shortly after arriving.
The company works with steel and aluminum coils, according to its website.
