Paul E. King
Paul E. King, 84, of East Brady died Monday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.
Born Dec. 18, 1921, in East Brady, he was the son of James J. and Rose M. Bowser King.
He was a 1941 graduate of East Brady High School, where he played baseball and football. He attended Clarion Teachers College, now Clarion University, where he played baseball. He also played baseball for several teams in the East Brady area, and he enjoyed camping
During World War II, he served in the Navy as a gunner's mate third class and was a member of the VFW Post 863 of Kittanning.
Mr. King had been a senior lab technician at Koppers, now Indspec, in Petrolia and retired in 1982 after 35 years.
He was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady.
Surviving are three sons, John King and his wife, Brenda, of Hooker, Denny King of East Brady and Paul King and his wife, Terri, of Butler; four daughters, Mrs. Terry (Janet) Kamerer of Chicora, Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Martin of East Brady, Mrs. Bill (Julie) Tarr of Cowansville and Pam Scalise and her companion, Todd Carlson, of New Kensington.
He also is survived by 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
His wife, Elaine Knauss King, whom he married June 28, 1945, died June 24, 2005. He also was preceded in death five brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
KING — There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass for Paul E. King, who died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady, with the Rev. William Kuba, officiating.Memorial donations may be made to the Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, 111878 State Route 83, Kittanning, PA 16201.Arrangements are being handled by the BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME, East Brady.
