Carl L. 'Sonny' Welton
Carl L. “Sonny” Welton, 72, of Karns City (Roseville) died Friday morning at his home.
Born June 19, 1942, in Cowansville, he was the son of Carl J. and Elsie G. Gutherie Welton.
On June 20, 1981, Sonny married the former Vonnie R. Farone, who survives.
A U.S. Army veteran, Carl served during the Vietnam War as a specialist 4. He was honorably discharged and received an Expert Rifle M-14 badge.
Sonny worked for the East Brady Lumber Co. for 35 years as a truck driver.
He loved spending time with his family, going to car shows and watching NASCAR races. He enjoyed hunting and loved mowing his many acres of lawn.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Vonnie Welton of Karns City, and his two sons, James “J.C.” Welton and his wife, Amy, of Karns City and Frank Farone and his wife, Mandie, of Karns City.
He also is survived by his mother, Elsie Welton, his brother, Ron Welton, and his sister, Linda Fencil, all of Chicora; his sister-in-law, Connie Campbell, and her husband, Don, of Karns City; and his three grandchildren, Austin and Julianna Farone and Jaycee Welton.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father; his son, Eric Jon Welton, and his in-laws, Frank and Ada Farone.
Welton — Friends of Carl L. “Sonny” Welton, who died Friday, Oct. 31, 2104, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kelly's Way, East Brady.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul DeBacco of the Crisswell Bible Baptist Church officiating.
