Edmund E. “Butch” Rimel, 64, of Slippery Rock died Thursday evening at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 14, 1947, he was a son of the late Ralph and Alice (Brown) Rimel.

He had worked for Myers Refuse for 29 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, restoring and working on his 1949 Ford truck and, when he was younger, had raced motocross.

Surviving are his wife, Ann (Stefanik) Rimel, who he married July 27, 1968; two daughters, Rhonda Hartman and her husband, Russ, of Butler and Heather Pittman and her husband, Harry, of Mercer; five grandchildren, Bryanna Rimel, Angel Rimel, Tracie Richardson, Stefani Hartman and John Hartman; and two sisters, Joan Schmidt of Wexford and Donna Satterwhite of Texas.

RIMEL — Friends of Edmund E. “Butch” Rimel, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, will be received at the

Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Smith, pastor of Neshannock Alliance Church, will officiate.Memorial donations may be made to American Respiratory Alliance of Western Pennsylvania, Cranberry Professional Park 201 Smith Drive, Suite E, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
