June Kennedy
June Kennedy, 77, of Saxonburg, formerly of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Atlanta, Ga., passed away Wednesday evening at Rose Crest Assisted Living, Mars.
Born in Adams Township on Dec. 31, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Sample A. and Marvel Mahan Kennedy.
June was an accomplished physical therapist and in her early career she traveled the world, working in many countries with children and adults. At one time she was the director of physical therapy for two hospitals in the Atlanta area.
She was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.
June was an avid tennis player and enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling extensively.
Surviving are her two sisters, Eleanor Schafer and her husband, David, in Michigan, and Doris Keefer of Saxonburg; her brother, Darwin E. Kennedy and his wife, Sandy, of Mars; and her nieces and nephews.
